Max Dupain’s Sunbaker 1937

One of the most iconic Australian photographs of the 20th century is undoubtedly Max Dupain’s Sunbaker. Taken at Culburra Beach, NSW in 1937, the photograph was taken during his more artistic years before he delved into more commercial work and later became well known in the when it graced the poster of Max Dupain’s exhibition at the Australian Centre for Photography in 1975.

This limited edition print was produced by the estate of the photographer. Framed in a hand stained and polished Tasmanian oak gallery frame with an 8 ply matboard to space it from the glazing and subtly adding depth. Max-Dupain-Sunbaker-1937
